Monday 13th
Arrived at Tokyo. Took a bus to our first hotel. Then it was free and easy in this shopping mall where we had our own dinner. Ate chicken ramen mmm was damn good! then we saw this guy playing the sexaphone while the woman was playing the piano. the music was wonderful and i swear sexaphones are so sexy haha. back to hotel and that was the end of the first day because much time was spent on the flight.
Tuesday 14th
Took a domestic flight to Hokkaido. First stop was ainu village. took photos and watched some mini performances by the ainu people. We saw bears and dogs and dried salmon. Back to hotel for dinner. buffet was good we attacked the crabs and beef! hahaha it was the long-legged crabs. damn sweet and nice. beef was so tender. back at the hotel, we tried the hotspring. it was pretty awkward at first because we had to strip naked but after a while it was fine because everyone was naked as well. the guys and girls were separated. We had to wear the robe provided in the hotel room with our undergarments with the slippers provided as well. so first was to strip naked and place our clothes in the baskets provided. Then walk into the shower area to wash ourselves up with the small tower first. They had this mayu shampoo haha it was good! Then we can soak ourselves in the hotsprings. There were a few of different temperatures. roughly 39 degrees was good. but 40 and above was scalding for me already. we can only soak for about 3-5 mins per hotspring. then we have to get up and rest for a while before gg in again. you can only soak for a total of 15mins. wash up again before gg out to get dressed. Then we spammed water because we were perspiring and it was said to be very dehydrating. The facilities were damn good, there were various hair lotions, hair dryer, sterilised combs, and this water cooler. Back to hotel and it was a good sleep because the hotspring made us really tired. this hotel didnt have beds but only traditional japanese style mattresses. i think its called tatami? idk how you spell it.
Wednesday 15th
went to this red and green monster place. saw the 80 degrees natural hotspring with sulphur smell, in the middle of some moutains lol! the weather was damn cold btw. Bus to Ninja place where we watched two performances which we didnt understand cus it was in japanese -.- Ninja was damn cool! today was the coldest throughout the entire trip. My toes were freezing and numb. i couldnt stop trembling and my teeth kept chattering non stop haha. Then we visited this maze in one of the huts. it was uber cool!! there were tilted platforms which made you feel like you were falling sideways. plus the many mirrors which added on to the dizziness. haha. The snow was pretty heavy that day. Lunch at same ninja place but the food was the worst throughout the trip. It was so bland omg damn disgusting. But to snow mobile area. Yellow jacket, helmet, boots, gloves and scooter. Paired with Felina. She drove up an i drove down. it was like a scooter. it was awesome, tho i was obviously the more dangerous driver because i almost crashed into the scooter ahead of us hahhaha. We also stopped halfway in the mountains to take photos. the snow was so thick i just lied down on it. hahha great experience. snow was fluffy and soft^^ The view of the tall trees and the entire area covered with snow was amazing. Bus back to hotel. Hotel was jap style again with mattresses. Dinner at 6, was buffet again, pretty sian alr. Then we went up to rest for a while. was supposed to rest for 15 mins before gg to the hotspring. but we slept for 2 hours haha. Then we got dressed and walked to the hotspring in the hotel. It was crazy today. The hotspring was so bloody hot i couldnt go in. I felt like a naked chicken boiling -.- it was really too hot for me, somewhat scalding. Bad experience. Went back to our room to pack. Felicia fell sick while felina and i went down to the lobby to use wifi.
Thursday 16th
Breakfast buffet in hotel again. Went to this bear ranch to see the mega tall bears eating apples that were thrown down my the visitors. They were locked up in enclosures that were so low we had to bend down to see the bears. Lunch was BBQ at some place which was super cold. we sad on chairs with the BBQ net on a small container in front of us. Gugu bought us brownies ^^ Hotel sun palace was damn huge. North South wing all. There was a shopping mall inside the hotel -.- And there was this damn beautiful majestic merry go round. Took a mini monorail which was connected to the hotel and the snow activities area. i think the entire area was part of the hotel. We walked up this snow hill where we sat on a tube individually and slid down the slope. hahha it was uber fun!! its called snow tubing. Then we continued playing snow, lying down in the snow and trying to make an angel by swiping our limbs left and right, up and down to make the mould on the snow. Next we proceeded to play the snow rafting. We sat in a banana boat tied to a snow mobile like a motorbike where it would send us flying from side to side. damn shiok man. The guy gave us extra rounds when Felina and i kept screaming haha damn high. Back to hotel, shopped inside, had a chat with the two tourguides xiaoyang and philip. Xiaoyang was our tour guide while philip was for the other group. Xiaoyang came from taiwan and studied in Japan before marrying a Japanese wife and settled in Hokkaido, while philip was a singaporean who also studied in japan and married a Japanese wife. They were so entertaining when they acted retarded. And they both guessed that i was the youngest of all three -.-
Friday 17th
went to this place where there was a natural water source from the mountains. it was said to contain more minerals. The scenery was beautiful. Lunch was seafood steamboat. Tried the king crab which cost about 200 plus. freaking expensive. and the meat was so jelly i thought it was pretty disgusting. Headed to Otaru. They had so many glass handmade products including musical boxes. The shop was so mesmerising. Tried the famous Hokkaido ice cream and yummmmm it was damn good! especially chocolate and banana flavour. Next was the bai se lian ren factory. Took alot of photo with the mini cottages haha super nice. Then we went for some shopping along the streets and bought the bai se lian ren chocolates with 10% discount. Dinner at some BBQ place again. Ate the Kobe beef which costs 100plus for only small plate. it was damn expensive but man it was DAMN GOOD!
Saturday 18th
Visited the wet market today. They practically sold all the same stuff. Mega huge salmons, king crabs, and dried provisions like scallops. Stopped by some square where they sold alot of Christmas handmade items. It was so beautiful but photography wasnt allowed. We each bought necklaces with snowflake pendants. then we went to the city area for more shopping. Underground mall and Daimaru. Lastly we shopped at the factory outlets. The GAP stuff was really cheap. There were many other brands, all at discounted rates. But most sold winter wear so we couldnt shop also. Back to hotel which was in the airport -.- ahaha was so convenient the next morn.
Sunday 19th
Plane back to Singapore. Dinner at bedok with all plus grandma. Home sweet home.
I really had alot of fun on this wonderful Hokkaido trip. The sceneries were breathtaking. Food and lodging was really good as well. We made friends with this family of 7 with 3 kids. Shaw Fong who's 8, Shien en who's 6 and cheng siang who's 2.5 haha. They all had really special names. The rest of the tour group was pretty antisocial so we also didnt really talk to them. It was great bonding time with my cousins. A pity my family didnt go. I hope my family can go see snow together next time. Okay im tired of blogging alr. Thats all for this post :)
